“Jazz Up Your Singlet” Contest
1. Open to all registration of the Blue Water Spa Run.
2. Participants must jazz up the singlet provided run the race kit by using all kinds of materials (ribbons, lace, sequins etc.)
The enfine singlet maybe decorated and jazzed up provided the blue water day spa run logo is not covered and should
be completely seen and highlighted.
3. In order to participate to the contest participant must wear the jazzed up singlet during the race.

OF THE SINGAPORE 2010 YOUTH OLYMPIC GAMES

The Singapore Youth Olympic Games Organising Committee (SYOGOC) and Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., a global leader in the consumer electronics industry, reaffirmed their partnership recently by announcing several initiatives aimed at sharing the spirit and excitement of the first-ever Youth Olympic Games with Singapore and the rest of the world. The Singapore 2010 Journey of the Youth Olympic Flame (JYOF) is the final countdown to the first Youth Olympic Games. The Olympic Flame for the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games will be lit in Ancient Olympia, Greece, as with all modern day Olympic Games.

The Youth Olympic Flame, representing the Olympic values of Excellence, Friendship and Respect, will then blaze a trail to one city in each continent – Berlin, Dakar, Mexico City, Auckland and Seoul – symbolically connecting youth of the world to the Olympic Movement and uniting them in a global celebration of upcoming Youth Olympic Games.

As the International Presenting Partner of the JYOF, Samsung will present a host of activities at city celebrations in each of the five international JYOF cities to welcome the Olympic Flame and to celebrate the Youth Olympic movement.

Today we celebrate the opening of our 3rd Philippine International Motor Show, the country’s flagship auto show.

Change, as they say, is in the air. And the Philippine auto industry is at the verge of major changes. For the first time, auto sales could surpass the highest sales ever achieved in 1996 of 162,000 units. We are growing at a rate of 37% so far. High consumer and business confidence continues. And the second half of the year is looking pretty good.

Global observers echo the same bullish sentiment. The economic growth forecast has been raised to 5.5%. Money sent home by OFWs is hitting a record high, at $18 billion. Meanwhile, banks continue to aggressively lend, giving auto buyers easy access to funds, to finance their purchases.

The momentum has turned positive, with expectations that our President Aquino can steer the economy in the right direction.

The local auto industry has shown remarkable resiliency. Despite the recent global recession, and the burden of auto smuggling, we have achieved growth year after year. Resilience, however, should not be taken for granted. Without smuggling, the growth could have been stronger; the increase in sales higher, and job creation, greater.

The auto industry is one of the Philippines’ few remaining major industries. What we have in common with our ASEAN neighbors, is the prohibition of imported used vehicles. Sadly, what sets us apart is the lack of the strict implementation of that ban. Without it, the auto industry cannot achieve its full potential.

A stop to smuggling is a green light to a bigger domestic auto market which in turn is a go for immediate job creation.

This then is our HOPE and a wish for a more vibrant auto industry, a bigger auto market, and for more employment.

Change is in the air. A brighter future for the auto industry, for its autoworkers, and for the economy can become a reality.

We are thankful that part of the President’s top priority includes job creation and a firm stand against all forms of corruption, including smuggling. As the President says, “Kung walang corrupt, walang mahirap.”

The timing could not have been better. Global demand is growing and the Philippines has an advantage. We can offer our underutilized assembly plants to serve both domestic and regional export needs. We have a growing domestic market with over 90 million car-loving Filipinos—with much room to expand, for both assemblers and distributors alike.

Asia is the auto market with the greatest potential. It is already the biggest—and the most profitable market in the world.

We have the capacity. We have the capability. We have the skills and engineering knowhow. And now, we have the right environment.

With the President’s clear direction of making the Philippines a predictable and consistent place for investments, things will only get better from here on. For the economy, for our workers, for the auto industry.

HOPE can finally be realized.

It is against this backdrop that we celebrate the 3rd Philippine International Motor Show, with our theme, “DRIVE THE GREEN ROAD. ”

We aim to use the motor show as a platform to build an eco-driven community. Here, you will find exciting new models, the latest in green technology, alternative solutions to include electric vehicles, hybrids, clean-burning diesel-powered vehicles, as well as advanced fuel-efficient gas engines. Philippines’ first ever TV roadblock ushers NCIS season 7

Fox International Channels (FIC) ushers in the 7th season of NCIS (Naval Criminal Investigative Service) with the first ever roadblock in Philippine television history.

NCIS pilot episode Truth or Consequences will air simultaneously on Fox Channel (Sky Cable Channel 50) Star Movies, Star World, Foxcrime, FX, and Channel V on August 16, 2010 at 9:50 p.m.

The TV roadblock in all FIC entertainment channels will allow millions of NCIS Filipino fans to see the suspense-filled and action-packed episode that drew a record 20.6 million viewers when it premiered in the United States.

No. 1 rated scripted series in the US
NCIS’ brilliant combination of wit and action, intriguing storylines involving the US Navy and Marine Corps, character-driven plots, and fantastic ensemble acting has enabled the police procedural drama TV series to consistently stay in the 4th spot in the US charts during its season 7 run.

TV’s no. 1 drama series became a top 10 program in the US starting in the fifth season, averaging 15.65 million viewers. The next two seasons saw the TV series jump to 5th, averaging 17.89 million, and 4th, 19.33 million viewers.

NCIS tells the story of a Major Case Response Team (MCRT) at the Washington Navy Yard in Washington, D.C. The MCRT investigates all crimes involving the United States Navy and Marine Corps.

NCIS is led by supervisory special agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon, The West Wing), senior field agent Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly, Dark Angel), special agent Timothy McGee (Sean Murray, Boston Public), and probationary special agent Ziva David (Cote de Pablo, The Jury).

Helping the team are chief medical examiner Dr. Ducky Mallard (David McCallum, Sex and the City), forensics specialist Abby Sciuto (Pauley Perrette, CSI), and NCIS director Leon Vance (Rocky Carroll, Boston Legal).

NCIS season 7 airs first in Asia exclusively on FOX Channel every Monday at 10 p.m.

Opening Dulaang UP’s 35th season is the restaging of Francisco Baltazar’s Orosman at Zafira.

The contemporary adaptation directed and choreographed by Dexter M. Santos and original music by Carol Bello garnered nominations for both Best Musical Production and Best Stage Director at the 21st Aliw Awards. It also received acclamation from various renowned critics and artists.

Baltazar’s Orosman at Zafira is about the enmity due to thirst for power and the beliefs of the three tribes – the Marruecos, Tedenst and Duquela. In the midst of hate and war whence two individuals find love, this adaptation highlights its women characters in their unyielding strength. This production also celebrates the Philippine heritage through its ethno-linguistic music and the fusion of modern and cultural movements.

This adaptation includes in its roster of casts bright and promising actors in the persons of Delphine Buencamino, Tasy Garrucha, Jerson Lafuente, Joel Molina, Reuben Uy, Jean Judith Javier, Tao Aves, Roeder Camanag, Kevin Concepcion, Gabs Santos, Acey Aguilar, JM De Guzman, Jacinta Remulla, Natasha Cabrera, Jules Dela Paz, Ronnie Martinez and the Dulaang UP Ensemble.

BMW – the most successful marquee at the 2010 International Engine of the Year awards

Half of all engine classes at the 2010 “International Engine of the Year Awards” have been won by the BMW Group, highlighting the company’s ability to produce class-leading, efficient, yet high performance petrol and diesel engines.

Since the awards’ inception in 1999, the engines in BMW Group products have been honored with more than 50 class and overall victories. The winners of the “International Engine of the Year” awards are decided by a global jury made up of 76 engine journalists from 35 countries.Winner in the 1.8 – 2.0-litre capacity class: This winning 2.0-litre four-cylinder BMW diesel engine features a fully aluminum direct injection power unit with turbochargers and common rail direct injection technology. Its technical prowess results in an output of 177hp and impressed jury members both with its pulling power and its outstanding efficiency. See this award-winning engine on the BMW X1 xDrive20d as it is showcased for the viewing public at the 2010 Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS).

Winner in the 2.5 – 3.0-litre capacity class: Such is BMW’s dominance in this category; the 3.0-litre in-line six-cylinder engine has replaced its predecessor engine at the top of the class. The new 306hp power unit comes with BMW’s new twin scroll single turbocharger and High Precision Direct Injection and VALVETRONIC systems for the optimum performance. It is featured on cars such as the BMW 335i Cabriolet which will be on display at the PIMS. Its diesel equivalent, the new 3.0-litre in-line six-cylinder diesel engine came second in the judging which is used on the BMW X5 xDrive30d and BMW X6 xDrive30d. Both models will be present at the show as well.
Winner in the 3.0 – 4.0-litre capacity class: For the third year running the 420hp 4.0-litre V8 engine used in high-performance sports cars such as the BMW M3 Saloon came top of the judges’ polling. The panel noted that in addition to brilliant performance qualities, they were impressed with the efficiency of the high-performance engine, which is combined with an Auto Start/Stop function, brake energy regeneration and other BMW EfficientDynamics measures. Catch the BMW M3 and other award-winning BMW vehicles at the 3rd Philippine International Motor Show happening at the World Trade Center on August 19-22.
