We’re not very sure about this but the grapevine has tipped us that Japanese Pop Diva, Amuro Namie, might be flying to Manila to do a concert. We’re not sure about that and we don’t have details but we hope it materializes.
To those not familiar with the name, Amuro Namie is a a 30-ish Japanese hip-hop queen and J-Pop dive with close to a dozen hits including her newest and most popular so far, Wild.
As evidence, we got this nice little video of her music video for Wild:
The dance/R&B/club driven track features the music of Michico and T. Kura of Giant Swing Productions.

She started all the way back in the late nineties and has made a name for herself as an actress, performer and singer (she says more of the latter) but we think she’s all that. (Incidentally, Amuro is a single mom to a very cute 12-year old boy named Haruto — the reason why she had to take a rest from her career back in the 90′s.)
Her song “Wild” was released back in March 2009 and quickly became her 11th No. 1 single in Japan. If she decides to come over to Manila, we sure loved to hear her sing live. On a related note, Amuro Namie’s Wild hit was also used in a recent Coke Zero commercial in Japan. We might see that same TV ad here soon.

Post-hardcore band Saosin will be performing live in Manila this January 22, 2010. The concert will be held at the A-Venue Events Hall in Makati Avenue, Makati City.
Saosin is an American post-hardcore band originally hailing from Newport Beach, California, formed in 2003. The band currently consists of vocalist Cove Reber, guitarists Beau Burchell and Justin Shekoski, bassist Chris Sorenson, and drummer Alex Rodriguez.
Ticket price is Php1,000 for General Admission.

A recent visit by the British Boys Choir, Libera, in the Philippines saw them sing the famous “Bayan Ko” song. check the video below for the full encore.
The Libera Concert was held at the PICC in Manila last October 25 and in Cebu last October 28, 2009.
