
Philippines’ first ever TV roadblock ushers NCIS season 7
Fox International Channels (FIC) ushers in the 7th season of NCIS (Naval Criminal Investigative Service) with the first ever roadblock in Philippine television history.
NCIS pilot episode Truth or Consequences will air simultaneously on Fox Channel (Sky Cable Channel 50) Star Movies, Star World, Foxcrime, FX, and Channel V on August 16, 2010 at 9:50 p.m.
The TV roadblock in all FIC entertainment channels will allow millions of NCIS Filipino fans to see the suspense-filled and action-packed episode that drew a record 20.6 million viewers when it premiered in the United States.
No. 1 rated scripted series in the US
NCIS’ brilliant combination of wit and action, intriguing storylines involving the US Navy and Marine Corps, character-driven plots, and fantastic ensemble acting has enabled the police procedural drama TV series to consistently stay in the 4th spot in the US charts during its season 7 run.
TV’s no. 1 drama series became a top 10 program in the US starting in the fifth season, averaging 15.65 million viewers. The next two seasons saw the TV series jump to 5th, averaging 17.89 million, and 4th, 19.33 million viewers.
NCIS tells the story of a Major Case Response Team (MCRT) at the Washington Navy Yard in Washington, D.C. The MCRT investigates all crimes involving the United States Navy and Marine Corps.
NCIS is led by supervisory special agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon, The West Wing), senior field agent Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly, Dark Angel), special agent Timothy McGee (Sean Murray, Boston Public), and probationary special agent Ziva David (Cote de Pablo, The Jury).
Helping the team are chief medical examiner Dr. Ducky Mallard (David McCallum, Sex and the City), forensics specialist Abby Sciuto (Pauley Perrette, CSI), and NCIS director Leon Vance (Rocky Carroll, Boston Legal).
NCIS season 7 airs first in Asia exclusively on FOX Channel every Monday at 10 p.m.

Opening Dulaang UP’s 35th season is the restaging of Francisco Baltazar’s Orosman at Zafira.
The contemporary adaptation directed and choreographed by Dexter M. Santos and original music by Carol Bello garnered nominations for both Best Musical Production and Best Stage Director at the 21st Aliw Awards. It also received acclamation from various renowned critics and artists.
Baltazar’s Orosman at Zafira is about the enmity due to thirst for power and the beliefs of the three tribes – the Marruecos, Tedenst and Duquela. In the midst of hate and war whence two individuals find love, this adaptation highlights its women characters in their unyielding strength. This production also celebrates the Philippine heritage through its ethno-linguistic music and the fusion of modern and cultural movements.
This adaptation includes in its roster of casts bright and promising actors in the persons of Delphine Buencamino, Tasy Garrucha, Jerson Lafuente, Joel Molina, Reuben Uy, Jean Judith Javier, Tao Aves, Roeder Camanag, Kevin Concepcion, Gabs Santos, Acey Aguilar, JM De Guzman, Jacinta Remulla, Natasha Cabrera, Jules Dela Paz, Ronnie Martinez and the Dulaang UP Ensemble.
Comprising the artistic team are Production Designer Tuxqs Rutaquio; Lights Designer John Ilao Batalla; Dramaturges Anril Tiatco, Katte Sabate and Patrick Valera; Accessories Designer Paolo Rodriguez; Photographer Jojit Lorenzo; Assistant Director Mara Marasigan and Associate Choreographer Via Antonio.
Orosman at Zafira will run from August 11-29 at the Wilfrido Ma. Guerrero Theater, U.P. Diliman, Quezon City from Wednesdays to Fridays at 7pm and at 10am and 3pm during weekends. Swearing to protect the Avatar, Katara and Sokka journey with him to the Northern Water Kingdom in his quest to master “Waterbending” and eventually fulfill his destiny of once again restoring peace to the world. But as they inch nearer to their goal, the group must evade Prince Zuko, the exiled son of Lord Ozai, Commander Zhao, the Fire Nation’s military leader, and the tyrannical onslaught of the evil Fire Lord himself.

In the recently concluded MTV Movie Awards, the world’s largest television network had given Transformers a stump of approval after being chosen as the Best Summer Movie You Haven’t Seen for 2007, placing Pirates of the Caribbean and Bourne Automatic behind the pack. The Transformers live action movie brings the battle of the two warring robots of Cybertron, the Autobots and the Decepticons to Earth leaving the future of humankind hanging in balance.

Transformers originally featured the heroic Autobots headed by Optimus Prime and their main opponents, the Decepticons with Megatron as the leader. Transformers are best known as an intelligent machines that are able to transform and reconfigure itself into innocuous form such as car, aircraft or animal. There have been a number of popular spin-offs based on the original Hasbro toy line including the widely read Transformers Marvel Comics series and animated TV programs that began airing in 1984.
Consequently, the equally awaited market release of Transformers licensed products will be officially launched on June 29th at Event Center of SM Mega Mall Building A. The whole day event aptly dubbed as The Transformers : Transform and Roll Out! the Movie Merchandise Launch will feature an art exhibit, drawing & trivia contest, video game demo, panel discussion for hobbyist and Transformers collectors, stage performances, movie promotion and a whole lot more!
The Transformers thrilling live action movie is directed by Michael Bay with Steven Spielberg as executive producer. This event is free for everyone.

The shows feature original music scores and songs, complemented with old favorites from the show, and professional dancers as costumed characters performing the parts of the Muppets. The productions are done in a theatrical style. In an arena, a stage is built and a false proscenium is created to make the experience more similar to going to a theatre.

The two and a half hour comedy drama ZsaZsa Zaturnnah is now running at the RCBC Theater at the RCBC Plaza, Makati City. The graphic novel was adapted into a stage musical by Tanghalang Pilipino, one of the country’s top theater companies.
