Iloilo’s Dinagyang joins Texas Folklife Festival
The famous Danagyang dancers of Iloilo will be one of the delegates to join the 2007 Texas Folklife Festival which will be held between June 8 to 10 in San Antonio, Texas.
The 22-man delegation is composed of 16 performers and 6 others left for the U.S. today. The Texas Folklife Festival is a four-day celebration of music, cultural dance, storytelling and crafts around the world. The celebration has been cultivated by the Institute of Texan Cultures in its appreciation of diverse cultural heritage.
The event will showcase 40 different cultures, 50 ethnic dance groups, 150 ethnic foods, 65 music groups, 50 craft vendors, 50 demonstrations, among others.
