Filipino Movies Currently in Cinemas

It’s not even Filmfest season yet and already there seems to be a good number of excellent Filipino films currently showing in theaters. So don’t waste your time watching “Deck the Halls” and support Philippine cinema!

DONSOL (Starring: Cherie Gil, Jacklyn Jose, Bembol Roco, Mark Gil, Simon Ibarra, Sid Lucero, Angel Aquino, Kenneth Ocampo, Erika Ann Luna, and Aaron Junatas)
Gorgeous shots of whale sharks with a love story thrown in.

INANG YAYA (Starring: Maricel Soriano, Sunshine Cruz, Zoren Legaspi, Tala Santos, and Erika Oreta)
A woman must choose between her ward (as a yaya) and her daughter (as a mother).

WAG KANG LILINGON (Starring: Anne Curtis, Kristine Hermosa, Marvin Agustin, Cherry Pie Picache, Baron Geisler, Dimples Romana, Archie Alemania, Celine Lim, and Raymond Bagatsing)
Twin-bill with the first story set in a hospital, and the second focusing on a spooky house with a haunted mirror.

ANG PAMANA: The Inheritance (Starring: Phoemela Baranda, Victor Neri, Jacklyn Jose, Angel Aquino, Susan Africa, Noni Buencamino, Tirso Cruz III, Ketchup Eusebio, Allan Paule, Darrel Gamotin, and Caroline Mangosing)
Fil-Ams (or is in Can-Ams?) return to the Philippines to take a look at the haunted (!) property their grandmother left them.

I’ve seen Donsol and Pamana, both are good films. Certainly much better than tha average pinoy films we’ve been subjected to lately. (I miss the 70s and 80s Filipino films!)

Nice blog, by the way.
