St. Francis Square Tiangge : Bargain Shopping in the Comforts of a Mall

St. Francis Square TianggeHoused in a four-storey building right in the heart of Ortigas Center, St. Francis tiangge offers a wide array of products at rock bottom prices. From novelty items, such as pillows, girl accessories, mugs, and what-have-yous, to RTW, Regional food products and mobile phones and video game accessories. Over 1,000 stalls occupy the mall which are mostly small entrepreneurs much like the ones you see in your typical tiangge and bazaars.

Food carts can be found on every level, giving shoppers a respite from their shopping chores with a variety of food items ranging from empanadas, waffles, hotdogs, etc. Or if you want a full meal, you can proceed at the basement level where some food stalls are offering full meals such as chicken inasal, lutong bahay dishes, Japanese food and sizzling specialties. Most of these food stalls are unknown and you cannot find them in other malls.

And the prices in St. Francis Tiangge? Definitely comparable to the Greenhills’ prices and most definitely with the prices in the nearby malls. In fact, I was able to buy an item which is 10-15 pesos cheaper than the item sold in the other mall.

If you are not choosy when it comes to brand names and you don’t want to get caught in the middle of “chaos” in Greenhills and Divisoria, then St. Francis Square Tiangge is the right place for you. Otherwise, go ahead and do your shopping in the nearby Megamall or Podium.

To the Person In-charge,

Good day!

I would like to inquire on how much is the rental(s) for the “Tiangge” per month? Is there any dues that to be paid per month?

In addition to my querry, I also leared that the on-going construction of the building (BSA Twin Tower A & B) was not yet finished. I would also like to inquire on how much is the pre-selling price/contract price per unit available. I’m interested in owning a unit.

It would be my out most gratitude if you would able to hhelp me.

Thank you very much and more power.

Hi. My wife and I are doing indian-inspired glass beaded bracelets which we sell at very affordable prices. It’s market cost at Landmark dept store in both Makati and Trinoma is around P400-700 plus. Our bracelets are at a lower price but with the same quality.
Can you recommend us to any stall owner or tiangge owners at St. Francis Square for us to supply them?
Thank you. cheers, GELO.

It is not advisable to shop here or even participate in the tiangge stores as one of the sellers because most people here are Moslems who are cheaters and don’t have respect to their co-stores owners. I’m not against Moslems and i know a lot of good fellas who are Moslems but not here in St.Francis square. Some of them are even pick-pockets who are having connivance with some of the vendors. You shop til you lost your cellphones and wallets and items they are selling doesn’t even have good quality. Sometimes they give you change that is less than what is supposed to be. To the admin people, eliminate these threats in your mall or your business will soon be gone.

Abdul Gerardi Mustafha » Apr 08, 2009 at 8:52 pm

That guy who has some inhibitions about moslems should examine his concience. Moslem pick pockets at St. Francis? Crazy thoughts. Pickpockets need not have business which require huge capital and a lot of sweat, do they? The reason why they do business is because they want to earn decent money, don’t you think so? Professional liars surely are not smart.

I am a proud moslem businessman at St. Francis Square. We do business with honor and we take so much pride of it. We take all people highly including our christian brothers. We come to St. Francis square away from our war torn homeland because we want to live in peace, harmony and goodwill with everyone else.

Like most of us, we too are Filipinos and we love this country very very much. We are thankful to the management of St. Francis Square for opening business opportunities for us.

Abdul Gerardi Mustafha » Apr 09, 2009 at 9:11 pm

We also take pride of the products we sell. I have a stall at the jewelry area and we sell fashion accessories and even south seas pearls two or three times cheaper than those being sold in more known establishments. The quality is also very good otherwise we would have not gained a lot of sukis and for us to stay here for almost four years now. Our sukis include office workers, company presidents. officers and well-to-do businessmen who wanted real value for their money.

The moslem tenants of St. Francis Square are mostly professionals. Some were teachers, nurses and college graduates who were trained and educated to be good citizens of this country. WE have also among us former mayors, congresmen and government officials who rented stalls in order provide some close and beloved kins their livelihood. I really hope that our shoppers could come to us and know us better.
